BaseZap works with any wallet that supports Base mainnet. You do not need to install a special extension or set up a new account — just connect an existing Base-compatible wallet and start tipping.

Coinbase’s native Base wallet — no seed phrase required. Easiest option for new users.

MetaMask

The most widely used Ethereum wallet. Make sure to switch to the Base network before connecting.

Rainbow

A popular mobile and browser extension wallet with full Base support built in.

Farcaster Wallet

Farcaster’s built-in wallet — available directly inside the Farcaster app. No extra setup needed.

Switching to Base Network

If you use MetaMask or Rainbow, you may need to add Base mainnet manually before connecting to BaseZap. Use the following network details:

To add Base in MetaMask:

1. Open the network dropdown

   Open MetaMask and click the network dropdown at the top of the extension.

2. Add a network manually

   Select Add Network, then choose Add a network manually.

3. Enter Base network details

   Fill in the values from the table above and click Save.

4. Switch to Base

   Select Base as your active network before connecting to BaseZap.

To add Base in Rainbow:

1. Open Settings

   Open the Rainbow app and navigate to Settings → Networks.

2. Add the network

   Tap Add Network and enter the details from the table above.

3. Select Base

   Choose Base as your active network before connecting to BaseZap.

Getting USDC on Base

BaseZap tips are denominated in USDC on Base. Here are three ways to get USDC on Base:

• Buy directly on Coinbase — Coinbase lets you purchase USDC and withdraw it natively to Base, with no bridging required.
• Bridge from Ethereum — Use the Base Bridge to move USDC from Ethereum mainnet to Base.
• Swap on a Base DEX — Use a decentralized exchange on Base such as Uniswap or Aerodrome to swap ETH or another token for USDC.

Base Smart Wallet is the recommended option if you’re new to Web3 — no seed phrase, easy to recover, and built natively for Base.
